Sovereign’s Story
It was love at first sight with Sovereign. Bursting with energy she was full of drive, quick to learn, funny. We dabbled in obedience, but agility seemed to bring out the joy in her so that’s the path we followed. Her dad was a UK import, her mother Sweden. I named her Sovereign after the English gold coin, but Sovereign thought it was in honour of the Queen, she certainly lived up to the title.
My heart broke when we had to say goodbye to her, she almost made 16. I sometimes think I can hear her barking from heaven, yes Sovereign was a barker, always with joy.
I loved teaching her something new, always willing to try never giving up, it was a question of who had the most fun. Dock diving was new to Australia, so we went along for a fun day. Sovereign was flying off the platform into the pool, barking as she went. Walking back to the car she slipped her collar, raced back to the pool up the ramp and launched herself back in the pool much to the surprise of the black Lab that was minding his own business & the organiser doing the commentary.
Playing tug, loved it and never quit. My Osteo kept me playing the game! She loved retrieving, beach, swimming.

The Greatest Gift Sovereign Gave:
Her zest for life & her joy in every moment.
